Samantha is excited to start her role as Outreach Officer for COSA this school year, where she will channel her passion for music and community service to make a positive impact on the greater East Lansing Community. As a first-year student at MSU, she has already found enthusiasm in playing violin with the concert orchestra.
Samantha is an honors college student pursuing a degree in Human Biology through Lyman Briggs College. After completing her undergraduate education, she plans on applying to medical school and specializing in allergy and immunology. Ever since she started playing the violin at age 11, she has developed a great appreciation for music. She served as concertmaster of her high school symphony orchestra, and has received 1st-division ratings at MSBOA solo and ensemble festivals. In addition to her orchestral experience, she is a volunteer with Trinity Health as a music therapist, performed for the NFL, and performs at numerous weddings. Her favorite orchestral music is Waltz of the Flowers and Waltz from Sleeping Beauty by Tchaikovsky.
Samantha hopes that the talents within the concert orchestra can bring healing and comfort to those in the East Lansing community who can benefit. She is excited to connect with others through her role in the orchestra and looks forward to making a positive impact in both music and medicine.
