An avid lover of historical music, Zach is thrilled to join the COSA team! As Program Notes Chair, he will provide engaging written commentary on the music in the Concert Orchestra programs that will serve as a bridge between the music and the listener.
Zach’s journey into music started when he was in 5th grade, where he began to learn the Cello. This journey flourished in high school, where he led the Cello section in his school’s Symphony Orchestra, played as the lead Cellist in the musical pit orchestra and became Cello section leader of the Detroit Metropolitan Youth Symphony.
He possesses a deep love of classical music from the romantic-era, with his favorite composers being Dvořák, Mahler, R. Strauss, and Ravel.
Outside of music, Zach is studying Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Lyman Briggs College and hopes to pursue a minor in Data Science. He plans on continuing his academic studies into grad school, and eventually working as a cancer and pharmaceutical researcher.
