Jonah has been playing the French horn since he was in sixth grade. He enjoyed band, but it wasn’t until high school that he started to love it. While in high school, Jonah participated in Solo & Ensemble as a soloist as well as a chamber musician, Michigan Youth Arts Festival, and during his senior year played in the All-State band and the Grand Rapids Youth Symphony. This was his first time playing in an orchestral setting, and he thought it was so cool how different the role of the French horn is in an orchestra than it is in a band.

Currently, Jonah is involved in many different ensembles at MSU. He plays in the MSU Wind Symphony, Concert Orchestra, the Spartan Marching Band, and in the past he has been a part of the Spartan Brass, Symphony Band, Symphony Orchestra and Concert Band. Jonah is pursuing his Bachelors of Music in Composition degree, and this is his fourth year as a student of Michigan State University.

Jonah loves being outside, reading Stephen King books, watching movies, playing video games, playing his French horn, and going for walks with his dogs back at home.
