As a senior, Macey has been able to see not only the Concert Orchestra, but also COSA, blossom to what it is today. Going from a group that didn't even have a council to having a fully operational board of students with different majors, much like the orchestra itself, has definitely been a highlight of her college career. As COSA's president, Macey and COSA's main goal is to foster an environment where students of all majors and backgrounds share a love for making music together. Mace began playing the cello at age 11 and then switched to double bass around age 17. Some musical highlights of hers include being a part of Michigan Youth Arts Festival (MYAF), multiple international musical exchange tours, and most recently becoming a summer camp counselor at Blue Lake Fine Arts Camp. Her favorite piece is the intermezzo from the opera, Cavalleria Rusticana by Pietro Mascagni.
Mace is a French maior with a minor in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and education. Education definitely is a passion of hers and she hopes to become a teacher in the near future. With that in mind, the connections she's made during her time at MSU will definitely help shape her into a great instructor.
