Sarah has been playing in college orchestras for almost a decade and is excited to bring her experience to COSA. As the Event Coordinator, she is always eager to hear new ideas about things the students would like to do both inside and outside of rehearsal!

Sarah started playing the viola in the fourth grade and has also played piano and clarinet. She loves playing in both chamber ensembles and large orchestras and is currently working on Hindemith's "Der Schwanendreher." Sarah is an enthusiast about Czech classical music and is happiest when playing a Dvořák symphony or listening to a Martinů concerto. In addition to orchestral music, Sarah is a huge opera fan and loves singing along to any Mozart or Rossini opera. Outside of work and music, she also enjoys doing gymnastics and ballet.

Sarah received her Ph.D. in Mathematics from Purdue University in August 2021 and is now a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at MSU, where she uses ideas about shape from math to study plants. Her goal is to become a professor and to continue playing in orchestral ensembles.
