Born in China, Luming Yang is a current DMA student in Piano Performance at Michigan State University, where she serves as a graduate assistant and studies with Professor Eric Zuber. She earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Piano Performance from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, studying with Professor Yoshikazu Nagai. In 2017, she graduated from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music Middle School, where she trained under Professor Zhijue Chao, Shuang Xiao, and Yun Sun.
Luming brings a wealth of experience in solo recitals, collaborative performances, and teaching. Her repertoire spans a wide range of styles, including instrumental, vocal, operatic, and chamber music. In 2017 and 2018, she was honored to perform as a collaborative pianist at the Junior Bach Festival in the United States. Her accolades include awards in the Grotrian International Piano Competition and the Shanghai International Youth Piano Competition.
Luming has further refined her artistry through participation in renowned festivals and masterclasses, learning from celebrated pianists such as Jerome Lowenthal, Kevin Kenner, Boris Slutsky, Douglas Humpherys, Jeffrey Cohen, Phillip Kawin, and Cong Fu.
Dedicated to musical collaboration and artistic expression, Luming continues to explore opportunities to engage with diverse musicians and audiences, aiming to inspire and connect through her music.
