Mira Choi, a collaborative pianist, seeks to bring diverse emotions to her playing, always considering how best to convey her musical ideas. Collaboration with other musicians brings her immense joy.
As a collaborative pianist and student at Michigan State University, Mira Choi actively contributes to a wide range of performances, including MSU Opera productions such as Mozart's La finta giardiniera, Don Giovanni, The Magic Flute, Verdi's Falstaff, and Sondheim's A Little Night Music. She also works with vocal studios and choirs, including the Singing Spartans, Viridis, and Mosaic.
Mira has accompanied numerous recitals, studio performances, and ensembles, and has participated in the Interlochen Arts Summer Camp. She continues to refine her craft through master classes with esteemed musicians like Helmut Deutsch and Cameron Stowe, demonstrating her commitment to artistic growth and collaboration. Additionally, she served as the collaborative pianist for the final round of the 2024 VanderLaan Prize Competition and is slated to continue in this role for the 2025 competition.
Mira Choi is currently a DMA student in Collaborative Piano at Michigan State University, studying with Zhihua Tang. She holds a master's degree from Michigan State University under Zhihua Tang, maters's degree from Sungshin Women’s University in Korea under Jinhye Lee and Gyeongju Jang, and her bachelor’s degree from Kyungnam University in Korea, studying with Soohyun Cho.
